Frequency:

2. LESSON SYLLABUS/CONTENT:
The syllabus for piano/keyboard lessons is tailored to the student’s level, and can be adjusted based on their specific interests, goals, and learning pace. The content typically includes:
Beginner Level:
- Introduction to Drums: Understanding the parts of a drum set, basic drumming techniques.
- Basic Drumming Patterns: Learning basic rock and pop beats, simple snare and bass drum patterns.
- Rhythm and Timing: Learning to play with a metronome and maintain steady tempo.
- Basic Sticking: Introduction to proper grip and basic rudiments like single strokes, double strokes, and paradiddles.
- Basic Coordination: Simple coordination between hands and feet.
Intermediate Level:
- Advanced Rudiments: Learning more complex rudiments, including flam and drag rudiments.
- Grooves and Fills: Developing more complex beats and learning to incorporate fills into a performance.
- Snare and Bass Drum Coordination: More complex rhythms involving both hands and feet.
- Rhythmic Independence: Practicing complex rhythms with hands and feet working independently.
- Music Theory: Introduction to reading basic drum notation and understanding time signatures.
Advanced Level:
- Advanced Techniques: Speed, power, control, and endurance exercises.
- Complex Patterns and Solos: Mastering advanced drumming techniques, such as ghost notes, polyrhythms, and odd time signatures.
- Groove Development: Developing proficiency in a variety of musical genres (rock, jazz, funk, Latin, etc.).
- Drum Set Independence: Mastery of performing intricate drum parts with hands and feet working independently.
- Performance and Recording: Preparing for live performances, studio sessions, and understanding the role of drums in different musical contexts.

Recitals and Performances:
Opportunities for students to perform in recitals, either through their studio or at local events. Performance helps students build confidence, experience and musical maturity.
Materials Needed:
- Drum kit (acoustic or electronic) Practice pad for quiet practice at home
- Drumsticks and accessories (e.g, brushes, drum throne).
- A metronome for timing practice (can be downloaded digitally).
Recitals and Performances:
Students may have opportunities to perform in recitals or local performances..
Assessments and feedback: Teacher may conduct occasional assessments or give feedback in person or email. This is to track student performance and progress.
